RJC Guatemala 2009 Itinerary
Itinerary
Any itinerary for a trip in Guatemala should include ‘subject to change’. There may be a variety of reasons or unforeseen opportunities that may require us to alter our plans. That being said, here are the highlights of our proposed itinerary:
Thurs. Feb. 5
Vans leave from Rosthern 7:30 PM, depart Saskatoon10: 10 PM, arrive Calgary10:20 PM
Overnight at the Friesen and Dueck’s
Fri. Feb. 6
Wake early, depart Calgary 8:30 AM, arrive Guatemala City 11:05 PM
Overnight at Semilla for the next six nights
Sat. Feb. 7
MCC Orientation to Guatemala and Guatemala City
Sun. Feb. 8
Attend church in Lo de Carranza, RJC special music, meet members, visit project site
Mon. Feb. 9 – Wed. Feb. 11
Work at the day care project in Lo de Carranza
Thurs. Feb. 12 – Fri. Feb. 13/09
Leave early Thursday morning for Santiago Atitlan
Overnight at home stays for two nights in Atitlan
Sat. Feb. 14/09
Leave early in the morning for Chichicastenango
Visit the Ruth and Naomi Co-operative, a Ten Thousand Villages partner
Feel the love, hugs all around (Valentine’s Day)
Return to Guatemala City, Overnight at Semilla
Sun. 15 – Mon. 16 (Bezaleel)
Leave early for Coban/Bezaleel, Sun. evening chapel at Bezaleel, special music by RJC
Visit classes, meet students, play soccer and tour Bezaleel on Monday
Overnight at Bezaleel for both nights
Tues. 17 – Wed. 18 (Montericco)
Leave early and arrive in Montericco in time to see the sun set, swim in the ocean
Overnight at Montericco, Wake early, Mangrove/Turtle hatchery eco-tour
Return to Guatemala City, Pack for the trip home, Overnight at Semilla

Depart Guatemala City 6:45 AM
