Mayor of Rosthern,
Dennis Helmuth, addressed the student body in chapel on Monday, October 6. He quizzed the students on their
knowledge of the town, encouraged them to get involved in civic life, and
challenged them to take time to practice acts of generosity and compassion
during their time in town. RJC is
grateful for the work of the Town of Rosthern, particularly after the town’s
maintenance staff repaired our water main break so quickly last week!
The Faith and Life
Committee organized a Thanksgiving chapel on Wednesday, October 8. After opening in prayer, students
shared experiences for which they were ungrateful. Shortly after that, students related stories of
thanksgiving. The goal of the
exercise was to encourage students to be thankful for what we have. Students decorated the dining hall with
cutout turkeys and pumpkins, which were filled with comments of thanksgiving
from the students. Thank you to
our wonderful kitchen staff for preparing an amazing Thanksgiving feast!
Representatives from Nipawin Bible College visited the chapel on Thursday, October 9. Jeremy Fehr shared a devotional based on our chapel theme “Seek First the Kingdom of God” and provided some reasons for students to attend Bible school, and to continue to study the bible beyond their years past RJC.
