We
got to sleep in this morning…. Until NINE am!!!
We loaded the bus, practiced our songs, then headed to Pass Christian
for church. We were greeted by Billy Morgan who was pumped that we were there.

We entered the church and listened to what people had learned in Sunday
school. The church was super energetic
and the choir sang with passion and soul that many of us hadn’t experienced
before. It was the first time attending
a southern Baptist church for many of us, we were blown away by the intensity
and preaching style of the Reverend Toussaint. It was definitely a moving
experience for us.
Is this what Richard means when he wants you to sing with emotion? |
You can do 1000 good deeds and one bad deed and you will be remembered for that one deed. Everyone preaches a sermon by their actions. "You can't be holy on Sundays and full of Hell on Monday!" |
Graham and Connor
spoke on behalf of RJC and presented the church with a gift from Have A Heart
fundraiser. We shared our songs with the
congregation and they greatly appreciated us.

Afterwards, we were served a delicious lunch, southern style. “This iced tea is the best part of the trip
so far!” says Emily. Most of us tried crawfish for the first time and loved it.
Billy shares stories with RJC students. He sees Hurricane Katrina as a blessing. It is in times like this when the Church really begins acting like a church. |
As
lunch ended we had a bit of time to kill before the swamp tour. We went to the
beach and played football, volleyball, and got sand where sand should not go!
Once our beach time was up, we drove for forty-five minutes to get to Cajun
Encounters Swamp Tours. There we split
into two groups and got on the water.
The weather was beautiful; we saw many exotic creatures, including swamp
hogs, venomous snakes, and the main attraction… alligators. We also saw various locals enjoying the
glorious day in many different ways. After that it was time to go to Camp
Christian in Mobile, Alabama. After four days of long travels we finally made
it to our home base for the next five days.
Signing off love Mac and Nic
